For iPhone → the phone cameras of 2007 to 2019, with their real processing · No account, no ads

Shoot like it’s 2010.

Pick a phone from 2007 to 2019. The classic camera takes each photo in RAW, then puts it through that phone’s processing: its photo size, lens view, sensor noise, sharpening, HDR and colour.

14 phones, each with its own camera

Every classic photo is developed the way the phone you picked did it. On iOS 18 or later, Expert mode adds today’s camera with any old phone’s look.

Pick a phone from 2007 to 2019

Each phone has its own camera screen in the style of its year, drawn by us, and its real photo size: 2 MP in 2007, 5 MP in 2010, 12 MP from 2015. Video, flash, selfie camera, timer, grid and filters come where that year’s phone had them.

Creative or Technical

Creative turns each year’s look up, so a 2010 photo looks unmistakably 2010. Technical follows each phone’s processing as measured in lab tests and reviews. Nothing exaggerated.

Every year, its own roll

Your photos and videos are kept in the app’s roll, in the style of that year, with albums, places and memories where that year had them. It moves like today’s Photos app: swipe between photos, swipe down to close, pinch or double-tap to zoom.

In your photo library too

With Photos access on, every photo and video is also saved to your photo library. The app can add to your library, but it can’t see it.

10 free, with every phone

Your photos stay yours

A camera should not need an account, a server or your data.

No account, no servers

Nothing to sign up for. Every photo is developed on your iPhone, and Camstalgia never uploads your photos.

No ads, no tracking

No analytics, no ads and no third-party code. The App Store label says Data Not Collected.

Before you buy

What does Camstalgia do?

It turns your iPhone’s camera into the camera of a phone from 2007 to 2019. Its classic camera takes each photo in RAW and puts it through that phone’s processing: photo size, lens view, sensor noise, noise reduction, sharpening, HDR and colour.

What’s the difference between Creative and Technical?

Technical follows each phone’s own processing, based on lab tests and reviews from the time, without exaggerating it. Creative turns each year’s look up so it’s unmistakable. Switch between them in the phone list.

Why does it use my ultra-wide camera?

The old phones had tiny sensors. Up to the 2016 phone, Camstalgia shoots through your iPhone’s ultra-wide camera if it has one, because that is the closer match. From the 2017 phone on, it uses the main camera. Photos from the 8 MP and 12 MP phones of 2011 to 2016 come out a little softer than the real phones’.

Why do some photos look worse than my normal camera?

That’s the point. The early phones had tiny sensors, little processing and a narrow range, so whites burn out and dim rooms get grainy.

What is Expert mode?

Today’s camera with the look of any old phone, on iOS 18 or later. You get your iPhone’s lenses, 4K video, HDR and 48 MP photos where your iPhone has them. Switch to Expert at the top of the phone list.

What is Real speed?

An option in the phone list. It makes you wait between shots as long as the old phones did. It’s off unless you turn it on.

Which iPhones work?

Any iPhone with iOS 15 or later. Expert mode needs iOS 18 or later, and its lenses and video sizes depend on your iPhone. Camstalgia is made for iPhone. The app itself is in 32 languages.

Is my data private?

Yes. No account, no ads, no tracking, no servers. Your photos are developed on your iPhone and never uploaded. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Why does the App Store say Throwback?

Camstalgia is the new name of Throwback. Until the update that renames it, the App Store lists it as Throwback: Old Phone Camera, and your Home Screen shows Throwback. It’s the same app.

What does it cost?

Your first 10 photos or videos are free, with every phone. Then All Phones costs $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US. Prices vary by country, and the App Store shows yours before you buy. There is no free trial, and you can cancel anytime in Settings.
